Here are a few solutions that will help you troubleshoot the issue.
The first solution that you should try is checking the Xbox status.
So head to the Xbox status page and check for any alert being flashed on any of the services. If yes, then expand that particular service and scroll down to the Notifications section.
Then Sign in, so that you get a message when the service is active and back to running.
The next method is to check your network connection as it might be stopping your Xbox app from connecting to the console.
Check if your mobile device is connected to the WiFi connection. Or you can also connect the two devices to the data option if they cannot connect to the WiFi network.
In order to use mobile data for setup of Xbox App, follow the given instructions –
Step 1 – On your Android device, go to the Apps section in your Settings.
Step 2 – Then select the Xbox App, and turn on the Allow mobile data option.
This will allow your app to use the mobile data to complete the setup and connect to the console. Follow the same steps to enable mobile data on IOS devices.
Another way to troubleshoot the Xbox App can’t connect to console error is by restarting the app. If you are using an Android device, then go to the Recent Applications menu and clear all the running apps. After closing the apps, restart the Xbox App and try to connect.
On iOS devices, double-tap or press the Home button and close the apps. Then restart the app and try to complete the setup process.
If the above methods don’t work for you, then you can hard reset your Xbox console, while restarting your mobile device.
Step 1 – Press the Xbox button/ power button on your console and hold it for about 8 seconds till the console shuts down.
Step 2 – Unplug the power cord and wait for about 5 minutes before plugging back the cable.
After plugging the chord, restart your console and connect it to the Xbox App.
Lastly, you can clear the cache and storage of the particular Xbox app and then try connecting it to the console.
Step 1 – After closing the app, and restarting your device open the Settings.
Step 2 – Go to Apps and then click on the storage option. Select Clear Cache.
Step 3 – To clear the App Storage, again go to Apps under the Settings of your device.
Step 4 – Click on Storage and then choose Clear Storage.
Step 5 – Next, uninstall the Xbox App and then reinstall the latest version from the Google Play Store or App Store.
