And so today we are going to share with you the step-by-step guide to Install Kodi on a USB stick for TV.
One way to get Kodi on your TV screen is with Chromecast. Streaming Kodi to Chromecast seems easy but not a permanent solution.
Another way is by downloading and installing the Kodi app on your Windows or Mac device. You can then export it to your USB or Flash drive. This is the best way to stream Kodi on TV using a USB drive.
So let us check out the steps you need to perform.
Step 1- To begin with, open any web browser on your computer or laptop. Search for Download Kodi.
Step 2- Open the official website. Scroll down to find Kodi available for different platforms.
Step 3- Click on the Windows icon. And download Kodi for Windows, the latest version.
The download will begin and complete in a few seconds.
Step 4- A new window will pop-up. Select the location where you want to save the file.
Step 5- After the file gets downloaded, close the window.
Now it is time to install Kodi on USB Device.
Step 6- So double click on the Kodi app you have downloaded. The installation of Kodi Setup will begin.
Step 7- Click on Next> I Agree> Next.
Step 8- Then they will ask you the destination folder where you want to install Kodi. The default location will be displayed in the box.
Step 9-Since we have to install Kodi on USB Stick, click on Browse. And choose the USB Pen Drive option.
Step 10- Press Ok. Then click on Next and finally on the Install option.
Step 11- After the installation process completes, click on Finish.
Step 12- Now go to your USB Drive. Open the folder where you have installed the application.
Step 13-The folder will have all the different files. Look for the Kodi application and right-click on it.
Step 14- Choose Create Shortcut. A new Kodi application will be added just above the Kodi app.
Step 15- If you want you can rename the file to Kodi Portable.
Step 16- Right-click on Kodi shortcut, and open Properties. Change the target by adding “.p” to the address.
Step 17- Click on Apply. And now your Kodi portable app is ready to be launched.
If you own a smart TV, then you can cut short this entire process and download the Kodi app directly from the Play store. However, those who do not have an Android TV can sideload apps using USB Drive.
So once you have the Kodi app on your external device, it’s time to make it available on your TV.
There are two ways to do this.
First, you can insert the USB Stick to your computer and then via a USB cable attach your computer to the TV, this method is liked by many as operating Kodi through a laptop or PC is quite easy.
