Method 1 – Enable Ethernet Settings

Step 2 – Enter the command devmgmt.msc to open the Device Manager window.

Step 4 – If the icon next to the Ethernet card looks like a computer with the down arrow, then it means Ethernet is disabled.

If the above method doesn’t work, then let us check your Internet connection details. Maybe it requires you to enter the correct modem details.

Step 1 – Go to your Ethernet option in Network Settings.

Step 2 – Then right-click on Local area Network Area and select Properties.

Method 3 – Check the Network Cable

One of the possible reasons that can be causing the Ethernet cable not working on modem is a broken Ethernet cable.

You can make sure by checking the status of your Ethernet connection. So go to the Network Connections on your device and check the status.

If it says “Network cable unplugged” then it means that your cable is not being detected by your card.
